UK at Astana Expo 2017

June - September

UK at Astana programme

The UK will deliver an inspiring cultural, education and business programme with a number of highly regarded UK institutions including the British Council, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, University of Manchester and National Graphene Institute; Natural History Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry.

The theme of the UK Pavilion is ‘We Are Energy’ and designed by a talented British consortium comprising KBW, WOO and Asif Khan.

UK Business

The UK’s business programme will focus on strengthening UK-Kazakhstan relations in the oil, gas and mining sectors as well as infrastructure and technology. The UK is the first country to propose an end date to using unabated coal and believes that a range of energy sources such as nuclear, offshore wind and shale gas have roles to play in the low-carbon energy mix. The UK is one of the best places in the world to invest in renewable energy as well as being widely regarded as technology leaders and innovators in the fields of oil and gas. In mining solutions, the UK has an unrivalled range expertise, products and services.
